The deadline approaches to turn in Summer Reading logs!

Adults!  Keep reading, even though the weather is hot, but remember that the deadline to turn in logs is August 7 at 5PM.  Going to be on vacation that day?  Be sure to turn your log in early.  Logs turned in after that date/time for both kids and grown-ups, will not be counted.  REMEMBER, grownups--for each log submitted--six books read or listened to--you earn one more chance to win great prizes. Remember,  all books must be checked out from South Charleston Public Library, and only unabridged audiobooks count toward your total.  We can't wait to start giving away great stuff!

We want your BLOOD!          

The Library will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, August 26 from 2PM to 7PM in the Dow Auditorium.  We would love to show the Red Cross just how generous residents in our area are with a super successful drive!  The process of donating one pint of blood takes about half an hour and can save the lives of as many as four different individuals.  It's tough to get people to donate during the busy summer months, when supplies are especially low.  If you would like to donate, call the Library (304 744 6561)  for an appointment, or just drop in.  We would love to see you, and the people whose lives you save will be ever so grateful.

Help a Child Start School Prepared

Does back-to-school time bring back memories of new Ticonderogas, Pink Pearls, and the waxy
smell of crayons?  If so, grab a cart and head down the aisles your favorite   store and purchase a few things for a child in need.  Then, bring your purchases to our collection box at the Library.  all donations will go to South Charleston's Heart and Hand House, to share with local children.

The following supplies are especially needed: 3- or 5-subject spiral notebooks with "neat sheet" tearouts, notebook paper, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, snub-nose scissors, bookbags and backpacks.
